Sherrodsville is a village located in Carroll County, Ohio, United States. It is situated on the banks of the Atwood Lake and is the second most populated place in the county. The population of the village as of the 2010 census was 318.
Sherrodsville was founded in 1826 and was named after Alexander Sherrod, who was a pioneer settler in the area. The village was once a major center of salt production and shipping. It also served as a stopover for travelers along the famed Lincoln Highway.
Today, Sherrodsville is a quiet residential community with a mix of newer homes and historic properties. It boasts a few local businesses such as a grocery store, gas stations, and restaurants. Outdoor recreation is a major draw with the nearby Atwood Lake offering year-round fishing, boating, swimming, and campgrounds. The village also hosts an annual Fall Festival, which attracts visitors from all over the region.
